The Guest House (River House Hotel) at Malham was a fantastic place run by a lovely young couple. We arrived smelling like a combination of over ripe Camembert and the floor of our chicken coop. No more ado, they washed all our stuff and even offered to put my shoes in the airing cupboard!! Whoah! That would have been a big mistake so I declined that over generous offer! We both had a bath and then crashed out without food or alcohol! 29 miles, several million feet of ascent and 6 inches of rainfall in each pocket! Today we had completed a tough day of walking in the toughest of conditions. But we shouldn't blow our trumpet too much because "The weather is incidental to the outcome of the expidition"
